Here it is Court

All You Need Is (His) Love

It sounds too good to be true at first. It’s sung in hundreds of hymns. You’re taught it from your first day of Sunday school. It’s one of the most fundamental truths of following Christ, but at the same time, it can be one of the most easily forgotten. We put it on a shelf, and simply let it collect dust, when we should be using it and taking advantage of it every waking second of our lives. It is the simplest, yet most complex ideal in all of Christianity. It is, to put it into words, the love of God. “The love of God? Heard that one before. Give me something new.” But have you really heard it? It seems so simple on the surface, but then you take a closer look, and you are blown away. The inexplicable, uncontainable, incredible, mind blowing, world changing, indescribable love of God is something we cannot take lightly. It is something that God is always willing and ready to give to you. We do not deserve it, and we cannot earn it. We can try, but God will simply smile, lay a hand on our shoulder, and quietly tell us that we don’t need to do anything except accept it. It’s not even worth it. All we need to do is accept the hand he extends. There’s no reason to scale the cliffs if there’s a stairway right in front of you. And when we accept the hand, that is truly when we begin to live. Not when we’re baptized or confirmed or become a church member or whatever. As great and important as those things are, they pale in comparison to the amazing love of God.

That's what i have so far. Tell me what you think!

My Homecoming Post

Well its been quite some time hasn't it? I'm back finally! And I don't have a ton to report but hey I do what I can. Alright well let's see… in Nerd News… we have the new Nerf gun, the Raider. We don't know much except that it's drum fed and can fire up to 35 in like a minute. Also, Digital Day is now some time in June L. Also, we've seen some leaked shots of T2:ROTF and… wow… just go online and look for shots of the Fallen. In normal news, we have a new president! Hurray! Sadly, we're still in a boatload of trouble. Oh and a recession…. Well that's all we have time for. Look for me to get back to my normal schedule soon. God bless!

Thoughts on the Upcoming Election

Some of you are going to complain that this is too political. Some of you will say I've gone too far. And still others will say I'm over-generalizing. But frankly, I don't care. I believe strongly in this and feel like it is something I need to say. So here it is. This election, there is a good chance that Barrack Obama will win. If so, I believe America will be changed forever. No, I haven't gone over to the "Obama's a terrorist" side. I simply think that this country will be faced with a choice. The choice will not involved anything to do with politics. The choice will be whether the country will realize that racism is a true problem.
The fact of the matter is, racism is a real problem. A pastor once told me how some of his African-American friends were afraid that if Obama was elected, some people would conclude the problem of racism had been fixed and then ignore it. Now I realize that is not the case at all. If Obama is elected, I believe that people will realize how prejudiced America can be. Obama talks about change as his mission, but the biggest change will be one he hasn't even planned. This change will hopefully be for the better. If it goes well, I hope that America can move towards true equality in all things.

Reflections

Yesterday I took the PSAT at school. One of the sections of the test revolved around reading a small excerpt from a novel and answering questions. Most of the questions revolved around analysing certain elements of the passage. As I worked on all of the different questions, I realized something. It was a good reflection of how life is these days. We overanalyse everything, looking for hidden meaning, examining the way things might be instead of the way they are. It made me realize that sometimes it's important to just step back and enjoy the what instead of asking why. This doesn't happen often enough in our society. Some people will go to a movie not to enjoy it, but to look for some deeper message or examine how the director uses various elements. I'm not saying by any means that this is a bad thing, I'm simply saying that sometimes we need to take a step back and enjoy life.

Alright while I'm posting I have a few other updates. GH4 comes out in about two weeks, so I'm excited for that. Also, I'm beginning work on Elementum currently. I came across some info for Mall Story that will change the story drastically, and I've decided to make it a long story, which essentially is a short story that's too long. :) So that's it for now, have a great break!

Digital Day

Febuary 17th, 2009. A momentus day. A historic day. Digital Day!!! Ok so here's the deal. I am officially declaring Feburary 17th, 2009, Digital Day.It's a day devoted to technology. It's also the day TV switches to digital.... but forget about that. :) So on Digital Day I want people to take a moment and appreciate tech. Now some will say this is just a geek day. Well maybe it is but still! Anyways just say Happy Digital Day to someone and watch as they get confused. Trust me, it's fun. I've done it before. Anyways, school's starting. That.... sucks. But I'll see you all soon so... C ya!

Good Things

Ok, now that you've been depressed I'll try to cheer you up. Here are some good things:
1. Obama's acceptance speech: If you haven't watched it yet, do so now! It's pretty good.
2. Yes Man: Hilarious comedy starring Jim Carrey. Here's the trailer: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v730wlOp9QY. Oh and if you haven't seen The Truman Show, do so!!!! It's an incredible movie and I can't believe I had missed it until two days ago.
3. Mall Story: Back in Production!!!! That's right work has resumed on the story, although some cuts have been made. It will be a smaller work, more of a precursor to my biggest project: Elementum. I'm hoping to get Mall Story done soon, with a good title.
4. School starts tuesd.... oh wait not happy. ummmmm Memorial Day is Monday!!!!
Alright that's it. Well have a good weekend everyone and i'll be back soon!

Animal Cruelty

Two horrible things were brought to my attention today. I had heard of one but thought it was a joke. The other, I did not know, but still appalled me. The first: baby seal whacking, a new "sport" in Canada. What is it? It's just like the name implies. This "sport" is about whacking baby seals. I don't want to even go into this, all I can say is if you want more info, google it. The second is extremely sad and it pains me to even share this story. But the world MUST know about this. An artist named Guillermo Vargas Habacuc took a stray dog in from his streets in Spain and turned it into an exhibit. The exhibit? he tied up the dog in an art gallery and let it starve to death to show how sad it was that there were so many stray dogs. When I heard this story I thought "WHAT????? HOW DOES THAT PROVE THE POINT?" He says he's making a statement but he's really being a hypocrite. Here's what should have happened. He takes in a stray dog and brings it to the art gallery. He shows it off in it's current state. Over the next few weeks he feeds and nurses the dog back to health. He then returns to the gallery with the now well fed and fit dog. He then kick starts a campaign to help the dogs there with some help from PETA. So why didn't this happen? I honestly don't know. All I can say is this cannot be ignored. Above is a picture of the dog. Maybe if more people know about this, it can be prevented, so spread the word.
