The fact of the matter is, racism is a real problem. A pastor once told me how some of his African-American friends were afraid that if Obama was elected, some people would conclude the problem of racism had been fixed and then ignore it. Now I realize that is not the case at all. If Obama is elected, I believe that people will realize how prejudiced America can be. Obama talks about change as his mission, but the biggest change will be one he hasn't even planned. This change will hopefully be for the better. If it goes well, I hope that America can move towards true equality in all things.

Thoughts on the Upcoming Election
Some of you are going to complain that this is too political. Some of you will say I've gone too far. And still others will say I'm over-generalizing. But frankly, I don't care. I believe strongly in this and feel like it is something I need to say. So here it is. This election, there is a good chance that Barrack Obama will win. If so, I believe America will be changed forever. No, I haven't gone over to the "Obama's a terrorist" side. I simply think that this country will be faced with a choice. The choice will not involved anything to do with politics. The choice will be whether the country will realize that racism is a true problem.

Reflections
Yesterday I took the PSAT at school. One of the sections of the test revolved around reading a small excerpt from a novel and answering questions. Most of the questions revolved around analysing certain elements of the passage. As I worked on all of the different questions, I realized something. It was a good reflection of how life is these days. We overanalyse everything, looking for hidden meaning, examining the way things might be instead of the way they are. It made me realize that sometimes it's important to just step back and enjoy the what instead of asking why. This doesn't happen often enough in our society. Some people will go to a movie not to enjoy it, but to look for some deeper message or examine how the director uses various elements. I'm not saying by any means that this is a bad thing, I'm simply saying that sometimes we need to take a step back and enjoy life.
Alright while I'm posting I have a few other updates. GH4 comes out in about two weeks, so I'm excited for that. Also, I'm beginning work on Elementum currently. I came across some info for Mall Story that will change the story drastically, and I've decided to make it a long story, which essentially is a short story that's too long. :) So that's it for now, have a great break!

Digital Day
Febuary 17th, 2009. A momentus day. A historic day. Digital Day!!! Ok so here's the deal. I am officially declaring Feburary 17th, 2009, Digital Day.It's a day devoted to technology. It's also the day TV switches to digital.... but forget about that. :) So on Digital Day I want people to take a moment and appreciate tech. Now some will say this is just a geek day. Well maybe it is but still! Anyways just say Happy Digital Day to someone and watch as they get confused. Trust me, it's fun. I've done it before. Anyways, school's starting. That.... sucks. But I'll see you all soon so... C ya!

Good Things
Ok, now that you've been depressed I'll try to cheer you up. Here are some good things:
1. Obama's acceptance speech: If you haven't watched it yet, do so now! It's pretty good.
2. Yes Man: Hilarious comedy starring Jim Carrey. Here's the trailer: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v730wlOp9QY. Oh and if you haven't seen The Truman Show, do so!!!! It's an incredible movie and I can't believe I had missed it until two days ago.
3. Mall Story: Back in Production!!!! That's right work has resumed on the story, although some cuts have been made. It will be a smaller work, more of a precursor to my biggest project: Elementum. I'm hoping to get Mall Story done soon, with a good title.
4. School starts tuesd.... oh wait not happy. ummmmm Memorial Day is Monday!!!!
Alright that's it. Well have a good weekend everyone and i'll be back soon!

Animal Cruelty

Two horrible things were brought to my attention today. I had heard of one but thought it was a joke. The other, I did not know, but still appalled me. The first: baby seal whacking, a new "sport" in Canada. What is it? It's just like the name implies. This "sport" is about whacking baby seals. I don't want to even go into this, all I can say is if you want more info, google it. The second is extremely sad and it pains me to even share this story. But the world MUST know about this. An artist named Guillermo Vargas Habacuc took a stray dog in from his streets in Spain and turned it into an exhibit. The exhibit? he tied up the dog in an art gallery and let it starve to death to show how sad it was that there were so many stray dogs. When I heard this story I thought "WHAT????? HOW DOES THAT PROVE THE POINT?" He says he's making a statement but he's really being a hypocrite. Here's what should have happened. He takes in a stray dog and brings it to the art gallery. He shows it off in it's current state. Over the next few weeks he feeds and nurses the dog back to health. He then returns to the gallery with the now well fed and fit dog. He then kick starts a campaign to help the dogs there with some help from PETA. So why didn't this happen? I honestly don't know. All I can say is this cannot be ignored. Above is a picture of the dog. Maybe if more people know about this, it can be prevented, so spread the word.

Random Thoughts
Well I warned you it was coming.... so here, for the very first time: RANDOM THOUGHTS!!! yay..... anyways, here goes. I saw something pretty amazing yesterday. On the way to the airport i saw a sunflower growing in between the road and the cement median. It was incredible to me because it just stuck out so well... sadly I don't have a picture. It was a nice reminder of life and it made me think of the U2 song beautiful day. Next thought is this: Pierce Brosnan singing is the funniest thing I've seen in a long time. Not even joking I laughed so hard.... just look it up somewhere if you don't want to see mama mia. So here's a fun link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rds_ljcVn-o At a wrestling match the fans go a little crazy.... seriously, it looks pretty painful. Well thats it! See ya later!

E3
All right here's the stuff I found out about. First of all, Wii Sports Resort. Pretty much a sequel. It has jet skiing, swordfighting, and frisbee. Comes with a small add on that enhances motion control. Also Wii Music, a simplified music game for Wii. And last, my personal favorite: I Am Alive. Looks like an incredible game although no confirmation of what plaforms it's for. The first trailer is on youtube at http://youtube.com/watch?v=DjYmFOWYthA. Cool survival game with exploring and interacting with other humans. Looks really fun. Well that's probably all of my nerd comments for this week. Well have a nice summer!

E3

Well, there's an event coming up that I'm pretty excited about, so I thought I'd warn you beforehand. It's called E3, and it's the biggest video game event of the year. Lots of stuff is going to happen, and I'll probably rave about some of it. So from July 15- July17 be aware: I might seem like a super nerd.

What's up?
Wow this is my first post in a long time. Anyways just thought I'd let you guys know what I'm up to. Well I'm working on a few songs that I had ideas for. More on that soon. Progress on Mall Story is coming slowly but surely.... well maybe not very surely. But I have finished five chapters and will have more done soon. I'm also starting to gather material for another story (which I actually have a good name for). All I can say for now is that it's about who recieves sort of superpowers, but it isn't your normal superhero story. Besides all that I got my permit and I'm driving! Plus I've been playing tennis. Oh and the picture I attached is what youtube would look like if girls remade it.

Mall Story, Facebook Return

Well, this is my first post in awhile. A few things to say... first, even though I quit facebook, I still go on from time to time, and since I have a cold right now I go on more than usual. So check it out sometime. Second, Mall Story (trust me, it's a working title) is coming along pretty well. I've got 3 chapters done, and I'm finally getting to the good part of the story. I'm trying to figure out how to post it somewhere, and I'm still working on it. The newest poll on the side of the page has to do with a supporting character named Garrett. He's a CIA agent who chases Tiberon (the villain) and ends up getting injured. However he throws himself at the gun Tiberon is using, saving the president's life. The poll is pretty serious: should he be evacuated and live? Or should he die, knowing he did the right thing? Please vote! And if you have any ideas for a new title for Mall Story, please suggest them! Thank you.

Poem
I wrote this poem for school. It's about one of the men who was involved in the Auschwitz revolt. The revolt failed, but it suceeded in destroying one of the gas chambers. Here it is:
The Hero
You never gave up.
You were always the one who kept trying,
The one who kept going when the going got tough.
You saw all of the people who were dying,
And you decided you’d had enough.
You refused to become nothing,
And you refused to wait.
Others said, “Liberation is coming!”
But you said, “What if it comes too late?”
You never gave up.
You kept fighting.
You were the first one to go in,
And the last one to get out.
When others said, “We’ll never win.”
You moved forward without any doubt.
And when the guards closed in around,
And we realized it was the end,
You were the only hope to be found.
As to many a hand you would lend.
You kept fighting.
You are a hero.
The people here at Auschwitz will never forget you.
They will remember you till the end of this hellish place.
The last words you said will always ring true,
And you said them with a smile on your face.
You said, “Long live all who are free
And long live those who bring that freedom to them!”
You will never know the impact your words have had on me.
For those words have made me what I am.
You are a hero.

You said, “Long live all who are free
And long live those who bring that freedom to them!”
You will never know the impact your words have had on me.
For those words have made me what I am.
You are a hero.
So that's it. Enjoy!

Alex Rider

I just wanted to take a quick second to say that you all need to check out the book series of Alex Rider. It's a great action and adventure packed series that I love. It's really easy to find the books in the series, and there's already seven books in the series. The series centers around Alex, a typical teen living in Britain who is thrown into the world of international espionage. I don't want to spoil it, but there are a lot of great revelations. I also suggest you read this if you're interested in British culture. There's also a movie that's fairly good. So enjoy!
GH4 Change of Heart

Well, I changed my mind. I've looked at a lot more for Guitar hero 4, a.k.a. Guitar Hero: World Tour, and I've decided it's a lot better than I thought. Some friends from school encouraged me to check it out more, so I did. The main thing that I discovered was that the game is more than a ripoff of Rock Band. The main differences that I discovered had to do with the drum kit. As you can tell from the picture before, it has a different design than the Rock Band drumset. Also, it has a special feature that senses how hard you hit the pads. That way you can have different volumes when ou hit the drum pads. Also, the guitar has a special feature that will be revealed this July. For more info, just google the name of the game. That's pretty much it. The thing that made me want to get though, is that the Wii version has downloadable songs that will be released. However, Rock Band 2 is also geting revealed in July, so it will be interesting to see what they come up with to compete with Guitar Hero.

FINALS
I'm kind of worried about finals, but not super worried. And I'm really really bored right now. So yeah. Hopefully the summer is more exciting than school right now. Well, that's it. Not really in the mood to post today. See ya soon!

Guitar Hero: World Tour (Guitar Hero 4)

So this is my gaming related post of the week. Actually, it's my second post of the week too. Anyways, Guitar Hero 4 is coming out this fall. It's officially called Guitar Hero: World Tour. Ironically, World Tour is the name of a story mode in Rock Band. Anyways, the main thing about this game, which I've mentioned before, is that it has drums and vocals too. Also, there is a limited create-a-track feature. But to me at least, the game just doesn't look that good. There's no big thing that's new and different to help me be interested in it. Also, if they're adding vocals and drums, they can't focus on guitar as much. And the series is called GUITAR Hero, is it not? So those are the reasons I'm not excited for this game. The picture I attached is the drum set for the new game. If you go onto youtube and search guitar hero world tour, you should be able to find the first trailer for it.

So Facebook is used by a lot of people, right? And actually, I've been using it for a while. but now I'm kind of getting sick of it. And so that's why I'm leaving Facebook. Not necessarily forever, but at least for now. I don't really need to get all of your "how you will die" or "play this game with me" invites, and to be honest, I don't have the time to spend on it. I'll check it every once in a while, but not often at all.
I'm back!

This is my first post since Thursday, isn't it? Wow, I had a really busy weekend. On Friday I had a Wii party (pyschotic clowns!!!), on Saturday I had tennis, and yesterday I had a group project (please don't kil me) and a neighborhood barbeque (nerf wars!!!!). Anyways, it was a good weekend. This week looks great, except for finals looming ahead. Anybody else have good/bad weekends they want to share? This time I've attached a picture I wish was reality. Hey, the name of the blog is "The Techie Teen."

Random Stuff
So this post is going to be a little random. First of all, I'm really excited because Prince Caspian comes out tommorrow. I think it's going to be a great film, and I'm really pumped to see it. The second thing is that a picture of the GH4 drums has been revealed. If you google it, it will come up right away. I think it looks like a ripoff, but... it's up to you. Third, I want to remind everyone to vote in the Student Council elections. If you don't, your vote won't be heard! So vote! And that's pretty much it.

Today I wanted to just talk about the people I endorse for Student Council. For president and vice president i endorse... Stephanie and Cara!!!!!! (surprise, surprise) For male rep I endorse Johnny Brocker, for female rep, Ashley Moore, and for Treasurer, Joe Domogala. I hope everyone votes for whoever they think is best tommorow.

Actual First Post
Okay, so that last one wasn't really a post. It was like an intro. Anyways, I've got a few things to talk about today. First of all, I want to thank Alex for being such a great friend. Only best friends can spill nachos all over each other and not be super ticked off at each other. Second, I want to talk about a big video game announcement. Apparently, Guitar Hero 4 will have vocals and drums in addition to the guitar. It will also include a track creating feature, but that feature lets you create ten songs max. Personally, I find the drums and vocals to be a Rock Band ripoff. And the track creating feature sounds sort of half baked. The third thing I want to talk about is some of my favorite and least favorite books. Five of my favorite series are:
1. Narnia Series
2. Redwall Series
3. Black/Red/White
4. Alex Rider Series
5. Lionboy Trilogy
Some of my least favorite books ever are:
1. The True Confessions of Charlotte Doyle
2. On My Honor
3. Out of the Dust
4. The Janissary Tree
5. Any of the kids Star Wars books
So that's it. See ya tommorrow!

First Post
Finally, I've got a blog. As Evan would say, "WOOT WOOT!" Anyways, this is going to be the dumping place for my thoughts. So all of you New Life freshmen out there... please try not to use what I say here against me. No Johnny, I'm not in love with Courtney. And no, Kelly, I'm not in love with Ashley. Anyways, this blog will cover everything from tech related stuff to life in general to TV shows to movies to video games to my current projects. So don't be surprised if this gets a little random from time to time. So this isn't really first post as much as its a intro. So thanks for reading this, and I appreciate any comments you may have. And I'll try to refrain from being too political. :)
